Cadets Support High Sheriff

Cadets from 1239 (Broxbourne & Hoddesdon) Squadron recently had the privilege of providing a Guard of Honour at a garden party hosted by Viscountess Trenchard, the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire.

Lady Trenchard, who is married to Lord Trenchard, the grandson of the founder of the Royal Air Force, hosted the garden party at Standon Lordship, Hertfordshire.

The cadets, who formed a Guard of Honour to welcome guests that attended the event, received numerous compliments about their smartness and bearing. During the evening, the cadets were treated to light refreshments in the picturesque grounds of Standon Lordship and spoke to guests as they arrived, and later on when they departed from the garden party.

As the guests departed, the cadets helped to raise funds, by way of a collection, for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, of which Lord Trenchard is Chairman.

During the evening both Lord and Lady Trenchard spoke to all the cadets involved, and at the end of the garden party, they thanked the cadets for their support and congratulated them on their standard of uniform, bearing and professionalism in carrying out their duties.
