Action Packed Adventure Weekend

Cadets from 1239 (Broxbourne & Hoddesdon) Squadron recently had an action-packed adventure training weekend in Hertfordshire.

The cadets were split into two flights throughout the weekend which started with an orienteering exercise at the Squadron HQ. After lunch, the staff and cadets travelled to Westmill Farm, a local activity centre, where the cadets undertook a number of activities including archery and tackling the climbing wall, each event scoring points towards the weekend's competition.

After setting up camp within the River Lee Country Park, the cadets and staff had a well earned barbeque followed by free time.

The following day, breakfast was served and after taking down the camp, the cadets and staff travelled to Stanborough Park to undertake raft building and sailing their respective rafts on the South lake.

After the raft building the cadets had lunch, followed by a number of sporting activities, during which a Lancaster and Spitfire aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) flew overhead, on their way back to RAF Conningsby from the Duxford Flying Legends Airshow.
